Giving Up
Dad is trying to give up. He wants the ventilator off and the breathing and feeding tubes out. He has a DPA that states he does not want his life prolonged on machine. We are willing to respect his wishes, but it does state that this is the case only if his outcome is hopeless. His is anything but. Things look good, his blood levels are good, it is just a matter of getting him to breath on his own. We need people to send him posts, or e-mails to the hospital to let him know that there are many people that care about him. He may be done fighting, but we aren't. He has agreed to stay on the machine for at least the rest of today. They are going to try to take him off again tomorrow morning. Hopefully by then we can get him to agree to allow them to continue to help him. Please help us, help him know that there are many people that care.

ReplyDeleteThis is Gloria at Fugate.Come on Rob, give it your all here. We wouldn't be the same around here without you. We are all praying, even in the meeting we said a prayer for you. I can only imagine how you feel from being with my Father, and Grandson and myself when we had that breathing tube in and I know that it sucks!!! But, you have to have the will to live and give it your all to make it through this. Please do that for your family if nothing else. It's all of them that have to feel the heartache as they love you that much. You are a tough guy and can get through this if you really want to. You will get better and life will get better... Please try... We all love you Rob, don't ever think anything different. If you do, it's just your mind talking, not your heart. God Bless you and your Family Rob...

ROB CHAUSSE YOU ARE NOT GIVING UP. You are a fighter & i don't believe what im hearing. I will miss you comming in & asking how are the girls with that big smile of yours. You need to be here for your family they love you so much & they cannot bare to lose their Husband,Dad,& Grandfather & us a Great Friend. You were like a dad to me at Fugate and always looked out for me. Every day I came to work, I looked forward to seeing you. I know Im not the only person that felt or feels that way. You bring happiness to everyone that has the pleasure of meeting you. The world needs more people like you, so don't give up damn it! Your family needs you, Fugate Ford needs you, and my Dad needs you to keep sellin him good deals on trucks! You're the man Chausse. Please keep fighting.

Uncle Rob don't you dare! You are being stubborn, I bet, but you need to turn that stubborness towards getting better! I know it's hard, and frustrating, but you can and WILL get better...it's going to take time, commitment, and support, which you have plenty of from all over. We love you and want you here, laughing your wonderful, infectious laugh. Please don't make a devastatingly permanent decision in the middle of a brief (it is! In the long run...) period of difficulty. Way too many people will miss you, including me. Please, keep fighting, and let the doctors, nurses and your family take care of you.

Hey Chaus, someone told me that you were giving up on life. I told them that I don't believe that for a second! We had a conversation not too long ago about backing down and you said it wasn't in your vocabulary. You said that from you heart, and I know that is part of you that will never change...

Please, please, please don't give up hope just yet! I know this would make your son very sad, as well as your entire family -- which would in turn make me very sad. I've been praying for you since day one, and even though I don't know you very well, your son is wonderful man to me. That only speaks volumes about his parents and THEIR character. :) I hope to see you up on your feet very soon. Just know that you have a family who loves and cares about you. We're all here to support you.
